Downloading Firmware Images

  1. Connect to ftp.option.com using any standard FTP client (e.g. FileZilla, WinSCP,) with the credentials above.
  2. Browse to the firmware directory on the server.
  3. Locate the firmware image matching your CloudGate Probe hardware revision and desired version.
  4. Download the image to your local machine.
  5. Verify the file transferred correctly (check file size/checksum if provided) before flashing it to the device.

Downloading the CG Probe Configurator

The CG Probe Configurator — the tool used to configure and manage CloudGate Probe devices — is available from the same FTP server.

  1. Using the same FTP connection details, browse to the configurator directory.
  2. Download the latest version of the CG Probe Configurator installer/package.
  3. Run the installer on your workstation and follow the on-screen setup steps.

Notes

  • Always download the firmware version appropriate for your specific CloudGate Probe hardware to avoid compatibility issues.
  • Keep a local backup of the currently installed firmware before upgrading, in case a rollback is needed.
  • If you're unable to connect to the FTP server, check that outbound FTP (port 21) traffic is permitted on your network.
